Multitudes on Monday--Surprise Opportunities

I am feeling greatful today for the opportunity to lead a sectional with the bass section of the youth orchestra.  It has been many years since I have taught and lead a group.  While I don't consider myself particularly well spoken nor especially good in front of groups I have some trepidation; but I also find myself looking forward to the experience very much as there was much I enjoyed about my former teaching experiences.  This is the kind of thing that I always thought I wanted to do.  This is the kind of experience I need to bring me out of myself and bring forth a feeling of competence.

Therefore I am grateful for:

unexpected opportunities sent in emails {125}

having the ability to help others gain insight into playing music {126}

earning money for my musical knowledge {127}

the gift of being able to play music in a symphony orchestra {128}

the perspective that music gives on history, art, religion, Western Civilization {129}

and today:

noticing all the different kind of maple trees in our neighborhood and how the leaves have different shapes and turn different colors.  {130}

picking up leaves with my little children {131}

a bright beautiful fall day {132}

a sermon on marriage reminding me or telling me how and why to respect my husband, especially in words and tone of voice. {133}

quiet afternoons before rush hour for quiet, sunny, fall bike rides where children fall asleep in the bike trailer {134}
