Right now it is five minutes to three o'clock and I should do some prep work for supper in half an hour. Then when Gabe gets home I will go for a walk or ride my bike for some exercise. It is sunny outside and at around 11:00 this morning the little ones and I went for a walk around the walk. It was a little chilly but very comfortable with winter coats and hats. It is 40 degrees outside right now so it may be a little chilly for riding a bike but we'll see.
This weekend Saturday Andy went to a men's retreat hosted by Father Rocky of Relevant Radio. I took Gabe to confession that morning and waited with the little kids in the van. We waited at least half an hour. It was a long line though a second preist did arrive as Gabriel came to the front of the line. Gabe wanted to go to confession as his Confirmation would be the next day. (Isn't it great how he wanted to go to confession before his Confirmation?)
Later that day Clare came down with a fever. (Ephrem was sick last week with a fever and cold like systems, the week before that Clare had just gotten over a nasty stomach bug, the week before that ....)you get the picture.) We have gone through more children's tylenol in the past two months than we had in the last three years. Having only one child up until recently, having children that pass illnesses to one another is a new thing for me. As funny as it may sound I am grateful to have the experience.
Unfortunately I didn't make it to Gabe's confirmation as I stayed home with sick Clare. She was feeling a little better on Sunday but Gabe's sponsor (my brother) was going to have his three kids with him and we would have had to keep an eye on them as well as our own two little ones during what we thought would have been a long ceremony. (We had no idea of their behavior in church.) So since Clare was sick I stayed home with her, Ephrem and my youngest nephew. I'm a little sad about that but Gabe is confirmed despite the fact and I am greatful that he seemed to have taken it so seriously. I'm sure I didn't understand the sacrament as well as he did when I was confirmed.
After the confirmation everyone came to our house and we celebrated Gabe's confirmation and my oldest newphew's birthday.
Some plans for this week I hope to stay on a regular exercise and practice, as well as prayer, schedule. I want to do a preschool lesson with Clare tomorrow and finish off our "feathered friends/ St. Joseph Day" unit. I want to do our "music time" on Wednesday and Friday this week. I use Playing Music, Praying Twice for this. I need to look up the library books for our new preschool unit that starts next week and hopefully take the kids to library story time on Thursday morning. I want to go to our Wednesday morning play group at a friends house on Wednesday morning as we haven't made it for a long time due to illness. I want to drop in some morning with the little kids to see my brother and nephew and try and get something together for my brothers birthday on Saturday. (Yes it's on the the 6th(?)anniversary of the death of JP II.) Today I want to sign Gabe up for a theology class through Kolbe to supplement his public schooling.
If I can find some time for myself I will continue to knit my dish cloth that I have recently taken up again. I don't care if there are mistakes. My goal is to just finish it and get used to the knitting process. Besides, it is dish cloth. It will still work no matter how topsy turvey it looks.
Special prayer intentions for this week: That my brother will have a good visit with his boys while they are staying with him this week. That we will see some interest in our condo and get it sold. For a special intention.
Something that makes me smile...
