{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real}

~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

Every Thursday, at Like Mother, Like Daughter!

{Pretty}

We got out the paints yesterday for a little painting (Clare's idea).  The colors are pretty.  I showed Clare how to make purple.

{Happy}

I finally figured out how to purl and therefore was able to make a stockinette stitch.  Very satisfying! It's  sign of modern times that I figure out how to knit by not only looking in books but by watching youtube videos which are very helpful.
{Funny}

Clare took this picture of her little brother.  How can I help but smile?  Clare is standing next to me right now saying, "That's funny."

{Real}

I'm starting to dread making supper.  I think I am in some kind of rut.  It probably has something to do with the fact that I haven't been making menus which makes it more difficult when you have nothing planned.  My husband has been working a lot of hours and hasn't been coming home for supper which gives me even less motivation.  I'm tempted just go and take everyone out to eat but that would be expensive and less healthy.

  1. oh I HATE when my husband can't be there for supper - I would fall into the same rut! I love to have adults at supper.

  2. That picture she took of her brother is adorable. And yeah, even with menus I fall into ruts. Break out a cookbook!

  3. Make your menus!! Make "daddy's not home" menus with stuff he thinks is silly (quiche at my house, and mac & cheese). Free yourself from the dinner-time woes!
    Good job on the knitting! Youtube has helped me so much. Written directions make NO SENSE to me :)
    Thanks for posting!
