Monday Musings

Right now it is 3:17 in the afternoon.  It is a beautiful spring day and I have laundry hanging outside on the line for the first time this year.

This weekend we had Chinese take out on Friday night as I really wanted something yummy and was sick of cooking.  Andy spent a lot of time helping out at the Knights of Columbus State Convention that was being held in our town.  He also participated in the second and third degree Knight cermonies.  There  was perpetual adoration during the conference so we took the opportunity for some adoration instead of going to our regular stations of the cross on Friday night.

On Sunday I had orchestra rehearsals and Andy and the kids went to his parents house for his Mom's birthday party.  (These were both in the local area where we were raised--about an hour away.)  I had a so called double rehearsal and Andy was planning on staying late at his parents' house with the kids until I found out the second rehearsal that day was laster than I had tought and it just so happened that I had time to take everybody home in the time before the second rehearsal so I drove the hour long trip there and back again twice.  It didn't turn out to be as bad as I thought it would be but I'd rather not make a habit of it with the price of gas these days.

Some plans for this week...I would like to sign up for a French class that is being offered as a continuing education course locally and maybe sign Clare up for some activities at the Rec Center such as swimming or tiny tot soccer.  I need to look and see what else is offered.

I would really like to buy some grass seed and some seeds for our garden.  I also need to buy some nylon string in order to divide the garden into 12" by 12" squares.  We are going to try some square foot gardening this year.  I really like the idea of little squares for different plants though I'm not exactly sure why.

I have rehearsals this week and a concert this weekend which will be the last of the season.  I am happy about  this though I do love playing once I get out there.  I am hoping this summer to play for some nursing homes (my dad's in particular) with Gabriel as we will have the time without the orchestra schedule.  Maybe there will be a chance to play in church too.

If I find some time for myself I want to:  get things together for Easter such as Easter basket goodies, clothes, and the like.

Special prayer intentions for this week:  That the last two weeks of Lent will be a blessed time for shedding selfishness that I seemed to be plagued with.  That we may sell our condo soon.  That I may learn the meaning of holy joy.

Something that makes me smile:

My clothes hanging on the line in the sunshine.  The fact that the clothesline fell over about three times due to the wind, however, did not make me smile.
